MS Exchange Server uses an Offline Outlook Data File which we call .ost files. If any problem is comes with the file, user can recreate it to get their mailbox data back. To recreate OST files, follow these steps.
Step 1. Got to Control Panel , select Mail option. In order change current profile name, tap on Show Profiles in Mail Set-up box.
Step 2. Select the profile name and Tap on Properties.
Step 3. Tap on E-mail Accounts to go to Account Settings option.
Step 4. Within Account Settings, Tap on Data Files and select file path.
Step 5. From Outlook Data Files, chose Open File Location. File explorer Window with desired file location will get opened
Step 6. Close Account Settings box and Mail Set-up box by taping on cross button on right corner on the screen. Go to file explorer window which you opened earlier. Delete that particular corrupted OST data file by right taping on it. The next time when you open MS Outlook, a new .ost file with original data is created for the account.
Solution 2: Use In-Built Microsoft Outlook Inbox Repair Tool
Step 1. In default location for MS Office program file, search Scanpst.exe tool and run it. A Microsoft Outlook Inbox Repair Tool box is showed up, Tap on Browse to choose that particular corrupted OST file path.
Step 2. Tap on Start button to beginning the process of repair.
Step 3. A dialog box signalling errors in file is showed up. For take a backup of scanned file before starting repairing, an option is also available for the users. Select check-box to save a backup otherwise do not select it. User can see the details by taping on Details option. Click on Repair to fix the corrupted .ost file.
Step 4. Now a dialog-box with text Repair complete is showed up which shows that repair process is successfully complete.
