Microsoft Exchange Information Store Service Not Starting – Error 0x8004010f

Resolution
Before starting the resolution process, it is important to have the authority of local Administrator. Now execute the below steps carefully:
Step 1. Go to Start button of the system, search Run and enter the command Adsiedit.msc and click OK.
Step 2. From Action menu, go to the option Connect to and click on it.
Step 3. A box will display of “Select a well-known Naming Context”, just go to its Configuration option and press OK.
Step 4. Continue further by expanding the following command:
Step 5. Now go to email address policy and right-click on it to open Properties.
Step 6. Select purportedSearch from Attribute option. Here, confirm that the value is (mailNickname=*).
Note: If in case purportedSearch value is not mentioned as (mailNickname=*), change it in a manual way by implementing the following steps:
- Click Edit option available on puportedSearch.
- Go to Clear option, enter (mailNickname=*) in the Value box and click OK.
Step 7. Again go to Attribute and click msExchPolicyOrder and click Edit.
Step 8. Go to Clear and enter 2147483647 in Value box and double-click on OK button.
Step 9. Exit from Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI) Edit.
Step 10. Again start the server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server.
